The Little Theatre opened its current premises in 1993, twenty-six years ago. However the theatre came into being seventy years before that, in 1924, initially as the Dramatic Sub-Section of the Literary and Scientific Society. The picture above depicts the Carlton Buildings, home to the Co-operative Hall, where the theatre performed for the first four years, before decamping to the new Picture House. You can trace the history of the Little Theatre through its different venues by going to Archive Images, https://hblt.co.uk/images, selecting Theatre Venues, then clicking on the various images to read about the theatre’s interesting journey, over the last ninety-five years.
