This August, Hebden Bridge Little Theatre is running two exciting, practical workshops, to learn techniques for performing Shakespeare, and to explore meaning in the text. The workshops will take place on Sunday 14 and Sunday 21 August, from 1- 5 pm; they are entirely free and open to all.

The workshops will be led by Jenny Gore, who is directing Twelfth Night, this December. Jenny has considerable experience in directing and teaching, and has a special love for Shakespeare’s work. She says there will be some (but not exclusive) emphasis on Twelfth Night, so if you fancy taking part in this play, this is an ideal opportunity to familiarise yourself with the characters and some of the text.

The workshops will consist of warm up games, exercises based on various Shakespearean themes and characters, and group work, based around the text. There will be a coffee break, and the end time is flexible, but will be no later than 5pm. Jenny says each workshop will be different, so people are welcome to come to one or both.
