Play-Writing Festival

The Little Theatre is pleased to announce the launch of a new one act play festival – Play Write!

Budding playwrights are invited to submit original, one act plays, with the three winning scripts to be performed at the Festival in July 2018.

Only one script per author will be accepted, and each script must be new work that has not been previously published or performed.

Each play must be no more than 30 minutes long, with a cast of no more than six actors, and with simple staging requirements (i.e. basic set, lighting, props, etc.).

A short-list of plays will be chosen by a panel of independent judges, and performed for two nights, over the week-end of 20-21 July, 2018.

To encourage as many entries as possible for this inaugural event, the competition is free to enter.

There is no monetary prize, but we will be awarding a trophy to the winner, and prizes to the audience favourite each night.

This is a new venture for us, and something which has never been attempted before. It promises to be a challenging and creative process, culminating, we hope, in an exciting weekend of new drama.
