The Prince, the Wolf and the Firebird, by Jackson Lacey

Directed by Jean Shaw, 23-30 January 1971

The play, billed in the local press:

‘aimed at involving young people. The cast of 26 – including 19 young people between the ages of 11 and 16 – is possibly the largest cast ever assembled for a production in the society’s 44 year history. A fantasy set in old-time Russia, the play is styled as family entertainment and should appeal to a wide age group.
‘Many of the costumes have been made at the theatre and special lighting effects, spectacle and ‘surprises’ are promised. A member of the theatre, John Leeder, has designed the cover for the special souvenir programme.’
