Quartet

Quartet is a gently comic and poignant look at the lives of four opera singers in a retirement home. Cecily, Reggie and Wilf are preparing a concert to celebrate the birthday of Giuseppe Verdi. However, the home’s most recent arrival Jean is disturbing their peace and routine, and refusing to perform. It turns out that Jean and Reggie were once married, and a shared history is not helping the project. However – the show must go on!

Quartet premiered at the Albany Theatre London in 1999 and as well as being filmed has been a staple of both the
professional and amateur stage since.
