SUMMARY:The UNfriend
DESCRIPTION:The UNfriend by Steven Moffat \nDirected by Cathy Shaw \nMon 23rd February 2026 – Sat 28th February 2026 \nDebbie and Peter\, a normal\, suburban\, middle-aged English couple meet Elsa\, a loud\, overbearing\, but rather fabulous American woman on a cruise. \nA brief holiday encounter turns their lives upside down when Elsa arrives at their house\, uninvited and also unwelcome. The teenage children are also put out by the visitor and the ‘uptight’ hosts discover the ‘true’ Elsa but are too polite to ask her to leave. SUMMARY:Bindweed
DESCRIPTION:Bindweed\, a play by Martha Loader \nA Rise & Howl Production\nDirected by Paul Chewins \nSat 21st March 2026\n7:30pm \n“Thursdays\, curry night. Curry and a pint for a fiver. Go at five thirty\, home by ten. Beat my mum up for a while. Bed by ten thirty.” \nIn a run-down community centre\, four men convicted of domestic abuse offences gather each week in a last-chance programme to keep them out of prison. Leading them is Jen\, a former police officer with her own secrets and scars. \nBindweed is a shattering and darkly funny play about responsibility and rehabilitation\, which looks at what can be done to tackle abuse at its root and asks whether accountability can ever truly lead to transformation. This powerful\, intimate exploration is theatre at its most compelling; not just a play but a conversation society desperately needs. \nThis is an amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books. \nTickets Available \n

SUMMARY:The Tempest
DESCRIPTION:The Tempest by William Shakespeare \nDirected by Jenny Gore \nMon 5th October 2026 – Sat 10th October 2026\n7.30 p.m \nThe Tempest was one of Shakespeare’s last plays. After the first scene\, depicting a ship at sea in a mighty tempest\, the story continues on a remote island inhabited by the magician Prospero and his daughter\, Miranda\, who were washed ashore twelve years before. They live with an untamed monster\, Caliban\, and a spirit\, Ariel\, who lived on the island before Prospero arrived\, but are forced into servitude by him. \nThe play explores themes of magic\, betrayal\, revenge and forgiveness. It reflects the cruelty of colonialism in the 17th century\, and it is possible that Shakespeare based the character of Prospero on himself\, for just as Prospero relinquished his magic\, Shakespeare stopped creating his magical plays. \nTickets available now!
