SUMMARY:Beryl
DESCRIPTION:Beryl by Maxine Peake \n7th – 12th October 2024 **THURSDAY 10th OCT WITH BSL INTERPRETER** \nDirector: Neil Lloyd with Ros O’Connor \nTICKETS \nBeryl Burton OBE – probably the greatest athlete you have never heard of! \nYorkshire wife\, mother and world record holding cyclist. Always remaining an amateur she set multiple records in the 1960s\, 70s and 80s – many that remained unbeaten for decades and at times even exceeding what the men could achieve. \nShe went virtually unnoticed in the UK\, but was famous abroad. It’s said that if she had been French\, Joan of Arc would have been relegated to second place. \nHer incredible jaw dropping life story is told by six actors using a script written by the famous actress Maxine Peake. \nWe are really excited to be able to provide a BSL interpreter for the Thursday evening performance of Beryl. \n© Poster image – Stuart Hought
